Membership Application

Membership fees: 31st March 2020 – 31st March 2021.

 Our annual membership runs from 31st March 2020 – 31st March 2021 and is £90 for our Veterinary Physiotherapists, Manual Therapists, Canine Hydrotherapists (ICH) and Equine Hydrotherapists (IEH) Members. Our Student Members annual fee is £10.

We adjust our membership fees from: 1st October 2020 – 31st March 2021 to £50 for membership applications during this period. Our Group Insurance Plan described below is reduced to £75 if taken out between 1st October 2020 to 31st March 2021.

All our practising members have the option to access our excellent Group Insurance Plan at the same high limit of indemnity. This Professional Liability cover comprises Public Liability and Professional Indemnity with £5 million of cover each, as well as a Legal Expenses indemnity of £250,000.  The policy wording covers a wide scope of practice that also specifically names veterinary physiotherapy and canine hydrotherapy. 

This high quality product is underwritten by AXA insurance and provided for us by Towergate via their specialist division for Care & Medical Insurance. It runs with the annual membership and the 2020 – 2021 premium fee is £99.97 ( 1st October 2020 – 31st March 2021 it’s £75). 

Our membership is divided into different categories and sub groups, which require specific evidence to join. You choose the category or subgroup that is your best fit from the descriptions below and submit your evidence using our online system. We offer a free second registration to all our VP and MT members if they have the required evidence for more than one category or sub group. 

Veterinary physiotherapist member: MIRVAP (VP)

Veterinary physiotherapist: Holder of an accredited university qualification at level 6 – 7.

Evidenced by qualification certificate, course transcripts, CV, CPD record and insurance certification if not accessing the IRVAP group insurance scheme. Free second listing in another IRVAP category / sub group with appropriate evidence to meet it’s specific requirements and accreditation process.

Manual Therapist member: MIRVAP (MT)

£90

Animal practitioner: Holder of an accredited animal therapy qualification level 3 – 6.

Evidenced by qualification certificate, course transcripts, CV, CPD record and insurance certification if not accessing the IRVAP group insurance scheme. Free second listing in another IRVAP category / sub group with appropriate evidence to meet it’s specific requirements and accreditation process.

Institute of canine hydrotherapists: MIRVAP (ICH)

£90

Canine hydrotherapist holds Ofqual qualification; level 3 certificate in canine hydrotherapy, as a minimum, with L4 -L7 holders required to map in their qualification to the ICH day one canine hydrotherapy competencies.

Evidence required includes qualification certificate, course transcripts, CV, CPD record, first aid certificate, water management requirements and insurance certification if not accessing the IRVAP group insurance scheme.

Institute of Equine hydrotherapists: MIRVAP (IEH)

£50

Each application is looked at on an individual basis and you need to submit your equine CPD record and CV, evidencing your equine experience, education level, suitable professional courses, equine hydrotherapy experience and insurance cover (you are entitled to access our Group Insurance plan). Additional evidence includes equine first aid and a water management course or training.
